Polite and helpful delivery man. My HRG 4 66 SK EP was well packaged.

The instruction manual diagrams could be much improved.

I had great difficulty in attaching the handle-bar was which was tethered by the recoil starter line, which would not unwind. It was not clear that to do this one must release the engine brake by pushing in the brake/run bar which is on the handle-bar. But until the handle-bar is attached, this is difficult to do. It's a catch 22!

It was very tricky to attach the plastic moulding of rim of the grass bag to the steel grass bag frame. I had to use a lever and consider there is a real danger of self-injury.

The blades are directly attached to the motor. Start the motor and the blades whirl so long as one grips the 'Dead Man's Handle'. Let go and the engine cuts immediately, this is a nuisance if one needs to stop for a moment to remove say a ball or stick that has got in front of the mower.

Re-starting I found could need half a dozen pulls and it seemed that one has to wait a minute or two. ? to cool down? Why?

I don't like - The drive clutch which snatches and makes the mower jerk into action, lifting its front wheels as it does so and leaving an uncut patch of grass.

I don't like - being limited to one set speed.

I do like - the lightness of the mower and it is easy to turn,

I do like - The mulch facility and was pleasantly surprised at how good it is.

I do like - The clean cut it gives.

I do like - Its relative quietness.

I will no doubt get used to it but at the moment I find I prefer the handling of my old Honda 476 C Review by Dr Rodney Pell
